Now having just celebrated the fourth Sunday of Lent we are over half way to Easter. As we continue to journey toward the Cross and Easter, making sure we gather together as Christ’s Body the Church each and every Sunday in the Lent to follow the Lord in the desert to grow closer to Him, may we consider gathering together as a community to at our Saturday penance service Saturday, April 8th at 10:00 am in the church. What a great thing it will be to come together and celebrate the Lord’s mercy and in confessing our sins to Him letting him heal our blind spots and weaknesses just as He heals the man born blind the gospel. Please prayerfully consider attending this important Lenten gathering.
Also, please mark your calendars for Ham Bingo next Saturday, April 1st in the Church Hall. Our meal, burritos from Santiago’s, will be served from 5:30-6:15 with Bingo beginning at 6:15. See you there. May many families win a ham for Easter!
And finally, this Sunday was our monthly “Fellowship Sunday.” You’ll notice the change of how we now gather in the basement (the Church Hall) instead of in the back of the church. The reason for this change was twofold. One, we thought it we be more comfortable for fellowship to gather together and sit at a table. The other was out of respect for the church space itself. With the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in the church and that it is the sacred space where the people of God gather to become the Body of Christ, the Church, we want to keep people from eating or drinking in this most sacred of spaces.
Thank you for your cooperation and all that you all do make St. Dominic’s a great place to worship, gather, and celebrate our faith.
