Happy mid to late July friends,
As we begin to move into August and the latter half of the summer, I want to remind you all of our parish picnic on Sunday, July 30th starting at 1:00 pm at the Sloan’s Lake Park on Tennyson and 26th Ave. This event is meant to be a celebration of the whole parish: young and old, the various ethnicities and diversity of the parish. So please make sure you can come and celebrate who we are St. Dominic Parish. There will be plenty of food and entertainment, especially for the kiddies! See you there.
I also want to thank all those who helped to plan, set-up and run our Trivia Night. It was a lot of fun and it was good to see the People of God gathered together in community and recreation. Thanks again to all you who came and participated and those who volunteered.
Finally, I just want to offer a reminder to you all to try and do something a little extra this summer to help yourself grow in your faith. Outside of your weekly reception and participation in the Eucharist, I would encourage you to spend time in silence throughout the day, to read a little of Scripture throughout the week, to enjoy God’s creation and go for a hike, etc. May you experience in abundance the grace that is always at work in your lives, to see it and respond to it!
