Already we are well into the month of July. I hope that you enjoyed a lovely celebration of Independence Day. Summer should give us some time to slow down and experience the beauty of nature, goodness of family and friends, as well as savor the greatness of our faith in God whose life we share. I pray that you find this time. I will be going away on July 11 for just over a week to do the same. Please know that I will keep you in prayer and be very grateful for being the pastor of such a wonderful parish.
Let me encourage you to participate in Fr. Wes’s class on the life of grace and moral theology. There is no need for you to make every class in order to benefit from the course. Each class has been constructed as an independent topic. He is giving the foundation of the rich Catholic moral tradition. I think you will find this useful.
I am happy to inform you that all six of our novices have been approved for their simple profession which will take place on Saturday, August 12th at 10:00 am in the parish church. God has blessed us with some wonderful vocations which, to me, is the deepest sign of His goodness to the Order of Preachers. I would ask you to keep these brothers in prayer as they move on to their philosophical and theological studies. Also, please pray for vocations from our parish to religious life and priesthood.
Again, a very lovely summer to you.
