Pastoral Reflection

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Our Advent is very short this year given that Christmas Day is on a Monday. We miss a full week of this beautiful season of joyful expectation. I invite you to make your prayer “Come, Lord Jesus” ever more frequent and fervent during this week so that the Lord might be born anew in your heart and soul.

Please know that all of you are especially in the prayers of all the Dominicans at this time. As you know Fr. Wes will be studying Spanish from January through March. We will miss his gentle and lovely presence. He will return on March 24th, Palm Sunday weekend. Keep him in your prayers as he prepares to minister even more effectively to our Spanish speaking brothers and sisters.

We will have the privilege of welcoming Fr. Jerry Stookey back to St. Dominic’s as he substitutes for Fr. Wes. He will be very welcome by all.
You are kept very close to our hearts in prayer.

God bless you,
Fr. Ed

Note: The Masses held on the morning of Sunday, December 24 will be for the 4th Sunday of Advent. You may find it more helpful to celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent on the evening of Saturday, December 23, especially if you will be celebrating Christmas at one of the Christmas Eve Masses on Sunday, December 24. There will be one Mass held the morning of Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, at 10:00 AM.
